The Northeast Georgia Master Gardeners Assn. is pleased to provide a Memorial Garden in the Hart County Botanical Garden. Infrastructure for the Memorial Garden is underway and the garden should be ready for plantings in late winter or early spring 2007. The purpose of the garden is to provide a peaceful setting where memorials can be located. To insure that the garden fulfills its intended purpose, the following policies have been established.
1. Memorials may be made to deceased individuals. Recognition and honor may be made to living persons. Acceptance of any and all memorials/recognitions is at the discretion of the Memorial Garden Committee.
2. Memorials are typically in the form of a shrub or tree. Other memorials may be accepted if approved by the Memorial Garden Committee.
3. Location of a memorial within the garden is at the discretion of the Memorial Garden Committee. Input from the donor will be considered.
4. Memorial signage and its wording is provided by the Northeast Georgia Master Gardeners Assn.
5. Because the Memorial Garden is located for the most part in full sun, only trees and shrubs appropriate for this exposure will be utilized.
6. All plantings will be purchased by the Northeast Georgia Master Gardeners Assn.
7. A contibution form including a list of appropriate plantings and memorial fees is available from the Memorial Garden
Committee or a copy can be picked up at the 4H Extension Office @ 200 Arthur St., Hartwell.
8. These policies may be changed without notice by a majority vote of the Northeast Georgia Master Gardeners Assn. at its regularly scheduled monthly meeting.
